Ladies Return for Freshers Week – 50 Years Later!

Pam and her group revisit memories in the Heritage Room

Pam Beck and a group of six ladies who entered St. John’s College as Year 1 students in September 1966 returned to the campus just as this year’s freshers are learning the ropes! They enjoyed some time in the Heritage Room before venturing forth for a campus tour to see what has changed and what is essentially the same.

We were fortunate to run into Annie Rowley, college chaplain who generously gave a tour of the chapel and a very full update on the role of the chapel today as a multi-faith centre of worship. The New Chapel was brand new in 1966 when Pam and her friends came to St. John’s.
