News from our London campus

More space for innovation

Last year, we were excited to open a new floor to enhance our student experience. When we hosted our Celebration of Achievement event in November, we were lucky enough to preview the space. The new floor includes social areas, a kitchenette to improve student experience, specialist business incubator space and more learning rooms! The new floor has also been awarded the highest official accolade for its sustainable re-fit, a fantastic achievement.

Welcoming new students to campus

In the next few weeks, our London campus will be welcoming new students as they begin their courses. Whilst almost all of our undergraduate programmes begin in autumn, it’s fantastic to also welcome new students in Spring to our range of postgraduate courses.

Alumination

Last year, we launched Alumination. Alumination is the place where we store all of our alumni snapshots and information about our fantastic donor community.

Alumni snapshots are an easy way to share your successes and support our students. By sharing your career story and advice, we hope to showcase our alumni community and the fantastic range of careers our alumni pursue after studying with us. In the future, we hope to use alumni snapshots to directly connect alumni with our student community.

Alumination is also where we store case studies from students who received scholarships, and share case studies from alumni who contribute towards them. York St John has a long history of alumni continuing to support our student community, and moving forward, we’re excited to expand this.

Browse Alumination or submit your snapshot.

The right side of the decal is composed of abstract shapes layered together. Overlaid on top is the campus logo: a black rectangle which reads ‘Est 1841 York St John University London’. In front of the wall decal are two comfy chairs and a large green plant.

Your alumni community

Three campuses, one university

When we opened in 1841, we opened in a single building in York. In 1846, we moved to our current York campus and we’ve never looked back! Between 1846 and 2024, we’ve had campuses, affiliate programmes and more all over the world. Today, we’ve condensed our fantastic history into three separate campuses: London, Ripon and York.

This year, we’re excited to continue hosting more events for our fantastic alumni community. We’ll announce all upcoming events by email, so make sure your details are up-to-date using this online form.

Webinars

Since 2021, we’ve been sharing alumni career stories through free webinars. Available to watch on YouTube, our webinars share career stories from a range of industries, and from alumni at various stages in their careers.

This year, we’re releasing a further four webinars before the start of the next academic year.

  • In February, we’ll be sharing Class of 1986 alumna Ros’ webinar about her varied career since graduating.
  • In March, Class of 2018 alumna Jenna will share some of her insights from her marketing career in the publishing industry.
  • In April, Connor, who graduated in 2022, will share information about their career so far as a sports therapist.
  • In May, we’ll share our final webinar of this academic year. Lauren currently works as a speech and language therapist and will be sharing some of her advice for how to gain experience in this field.
