Our York 10k 2024 team: introducing Patrick
There’s just one month to go until the big day! We’d like to introduce you to another member of our team running for our alumni-funded scholarships. Anyone connected to York St John can join our team, including staff, current students and alumni.
In this blog, we’re introducing Patrick, who studied drama and film at the College of Ripon and York St John, graduating in 1984.
What is your favourite memory connected to York St John?
Such a friendly place. The smell of chocolate in the air! The Quad after a snowfall ❄
As part of the team, you are raising money for the alumni-funded scholarships. What motivates you to support our students most in need?
I was fortunate to be given a grant to study. Everyone should have the chance to study in further education, regardless of their income or personal circumstances.
What has been the hardest part about training for the 10k so far?
To keep running when I had a cold and sore throat!
What has been the best part about training?
I enjoy running and I can focus on the goal of raising money for the scholarships.
