This session will cover the basic approach to writing external research grant applications, and how to maximise your changes of being within the funding frame. It will cover the process from forming an initial idea to submitting the final proposal. Particular focus will be given to what grant reviewers look for in applications.

At the end of the session, attendees will be able to:

– articulate key steps in the preparation of a good grant proposal

– understand how writing style enhances a grant proposal

– appreciate what grant reviewers are looking for in an application
