Hey I’m Shelby…
I am currently studying for my MA in Publishing at YSJ. I graduated with a 2:1 in English Literature and Publishing from Bath Spa University late last year and enjoyed the publishing side of my course so much that I moved to York to pursue it further.
Some of my interests include reading (duh), cookery, and knitting. I also work part-time as a barista so you can often find me with a coffee in hand. Naturally, I want to pursue a career in publishing and I love working within teams to create something new. I would love to publish a cookbook one day and I’m especially inspired by the work of Ella Risbridger and Elisa Cunnigham.
When I started out at the undergraduate level I wrote on a whole host of subjects, namely non-fiction for blog sites such as Milk Magazine. I still occasionally write blog content for my personal book blog but typically focus on my publishing assignments at the moment. I am thrilled to be working with the editorial team for the Where Ideas Grow blog and cannot wait to read your submissions!
