Chella Man
Chella Man is a deaf artist, author and director who identifies as genderqueer and trans-masculine. His heritage is Chinese and Jewish. He is in a very unique position when it comes to his identity so he uses it to advocate for all the people in the groups he identifies apart of.
i wanted the main focus to be on the his art work but i felt that his short film was more fitting since its a very moving and a modern interpretation of a De’VIA art piece. the short film is about a poem chella wrote on deaf experiences and what they got out of those experiences.
