I am a current student at York St John university, studying Drama: Education & Community BA (Hons.) I will be graduating in November 2020, and from here I hope to gain more experience within an educational setting, specifically teaching within a primary school.
Prior to university, my main interests consisted of drama and working with children. I attended a stage school numerous times a week, with classes focussing on drama, musical theatre and dance. I also had multiple volunteering opportunities within a school. This course has allowed the ability to merge these two main interests together, teaching young people how to efficiently express themselves through drama. I have been able to participate in both educational and dramatic projects throughout my degree, thus learning various transferable skills.
This professional portfolio is a chance for me to share the knowledge I have gained throughout my degree. It will feature reflective writing about the experiences that I have encountered throughout university, in order to highlight my learning. I will also acknowledge how particular modules have supported me in order to reach my future goals, and what my next steps are post-graduation.
