Photography Task

The theme for my photography task was York by the river, for this I went to the river bank early morning to get my shots. I found capturing the silhouette particularly hard, since I was outside, there was no way to manipulate the light, so the picture had the subject not quite as dark as I would have liked. The frame within a frame shot was also a little different as it shows a reflection of a bridge between the bushes, as opposed to a more traditional shot.

  – Long Exposure.

  – Reflection.

 – Shallow Depth of Field.

 – Silhouette.

 – Frame within a frame

Statement:

This task individually produced, making it much different to other tasks such as the student union interviews in this module. The main difference between this task and the other group based tasks was that for this one it was my responsibility to make all of the choices regarding where the task would be completed, what the theme of the photos should be. These factors along with the time management aspects of working alone make doing a task such as this one completely different to doing one that revolves around group work. It is important to be organised when completing projects as an individual as for work like this I was the only person that was responsible for everything that needed to be completed, in order for the task to be done, this being filling out paperwork such as booking and risk assessments. Though communication is much less of a factor when carrying out individual projects it does mean there is much more of an emphasis on the organisational and time management side of the work, that is a bit less important for individuals when working on a group project, as work can be shared between more people.
