Student Opportunities: Students as Researchers Scheme

The Students as Researchers scheme is one of many, additional opportunities open to Languages and Linguistics students at York St John University.

 

The Students as Researchers Scheme enables York St John students to undertake paid research work alongside staff supervisors.

The Students as Researchers Scheme offers a unique chance for York St John students to work alongside staff supervisors on exciting and varied research projects. This provides an excellent opportunity for staff and student collaboration, developing students’ research experience and transferable skills; such as teamwork, communication and workload planning, while providing an insight into further study for students considering their personal and professional aspirations beyond their time York St John. It also allows students to earn some extra money while making a valuable contribution to University research.

The Students as Researchers Scheme is an approved activity for the Higher Education Achievement Report (HEAR). This means the activity will be formally recorded on the HEAR transcript under section 6.1. Each year, around 30 students work across approximately 25 staff projects.
