Interpreting is becoming increasingly common at public events around the world. With more and more Deaf or hard of hearing attendees at music festivals and pride the need for Sign Language interpreters is evident.
I’m positive you will have seen videos online either on Facebook, or Twitter of Sign Language interpreters translating songs for large crowds. Often the videos go viral for the interpreters talent and pace.
I would like to show you this video of Deaf and gay interpreter David Cowan. Here he is performing to a Beyoncé song at Atalanta Pride in 2017. This video went viral for Cowan’s passion and interpreting skills. “Cowan is the first deaf gay man to receive the honor of grand marshal.”
