Higher York e-Learning Network, Sept 2013
A couple of weeks ago YSJ hosted a meeting for members of the Higher York e-Learning Network. The network represents a group of Learning Technologists from across the York area but we were excited to welcome Patrick Lynch, e-Learning Co-ordinator, from University of Hull to our most recent meeting. Patrick recently presented his research around data analytics at the ALT-C 2013 conference. The notion of Big Data is an emerging theme in the HE sector at the momentand is all about using large datasets to inform teachers of online behaviour and practice. This information can then be used to help inform future course developments and online activities. You can read more about Patrick’s presentation and a reflection of the conference overall on York University’s blog.
The Higher York e-Learning Network is all about sharing good practice and identifying potential opportunities for future collaborations. The group meets 4 times a year (Sept, Dec, March, June) and each meeting will from now on be focussed on a theme as chosen by the network members.
One of the main outputs from the group is an annual conference, which will be heading into its 4th year in 2014. A review of the last conference is available at the SHU Tel Team’s blog.
