Tell us your stories of Thorne & Hatfield Moors

We are looking for people to take part in two projects:

1: Stories of the moors past. Were you involved in peat cutting from the moors, or in the early days of peat conservation? Can we interview you?

We would arrange the interview for a mutually convenient time and location, and it should take around 40 minutes.

2: Stories of the moors present. Do you visit Hatfield or Thorne regularly? Could you keep a diary of your visits?

We are looking for adults who often use the nature reserve (e.g. would normally be there multiple times in a two-month period), for any reason – whether you are a dog-walker, bird-watcher, photographer, conservation volunteer, runner…whatever your reason for being there.

We will ask you to keep a diary of up to 8 visits to Thorne and/or Hatfield Moors in a period of up to 8 weeks. You can write in a paper diary (which we will provide), or you can keep an electronic diary if you prefer. Each diary entry can be as long or as short as you want, to tell us what is important to you about your visit.

After you have finished your diary we will ask you whether you would also like to take part in an interview. This would be at the nature reserve, so you can talk to us about it while we are there with you. You can take part in the diary part of the research without also agreeing to the interview though.
