Hi! I’m Lucy and I want to be a children’s book illustrator. I like to work traditionally so for this project I used brush pens with a limited colour palette. I was inspired by my family holiday’s to Embleton and the mission to get to the stunning Northumberland coast; through country lanes, over the hills and past the ruins of Dunstanburgh Castle. I would like you to follow Edmund’s quest to the coast.
A daydreamer steps out of the comfort of his home on a mission to get to the beach, a place where he longs to be. Will he overcome the obstacles he is faced in order to achieve his goal? Is he brave enough to combat the fears the reality of the outside brings? He is not alone in the quest, his stick friend stands by him, offering moral support and together they hike up monstrous hills, encounter intimidating tasks to fulfil a dream.
