Lunar New Year

Its Lunar New Year on the 10 February so we’re bringing in a special menu on Friday 9 to celebrate!

On with the soup we have a Hot & Sour Chinese style Broth with Noodles

For our meat main we have a Teriyaki Beef Stir-Fry, served with fresh Pak Choi, tasty Soy Rice and crispy Prawn Crackers

And for our Meat Free option we have succulent Stir-Fry Vegetables in a Sweet and Sour Sauce. Served with Soy and Spring Onion Noodles & crispy Prawn Crackers

On the chicken counter, we have a special Chinese 5 Spice Chicken Breast with Wok Fried Greens, a side of Salt & Pepper Wedges and completed with a Sweet Chilli Dip

Weekly Menu Beginning Monday 5 February

Gloomy February’s off to a Spicy start this week. On Monday we have Beef Rendang, a slow cooked dish braised in coconut milk and seasoned with Malaysian herb and spices. Chicken and Lentil Balti on Thursday, then on Friday we have Panang curry, a variation on a Thai Red Curry with a slight sweetness.

Weekly Menu Beginning Monday 22 January

We have a double feature this week! On Thursday it’s the Scottish Holiday of Burns Night and Friday is Australia Day.

Burns Night is traditionally held on or near the Scottish Poets birthday, the 25 January, and is a celebration of the Poet’s life and works. Traditional meals on Burns night, known as a Burns Supper, feature traditional Scottish foods of Haggis, Neeps (Turnips or Swede) and Tatties (Potatoes). We’ve incorporated these into our menu this week with pies made with Traditional or Vegetarian Haggis and Chicken Balmoral. The Soup is Cullen Skink, a traditional Scottish Soup made with Smoked Haddock, Leeks and Potatoes

Following Burns Night we’re hop-skip-jumping to the other side of the world to feature Australia Day. January 26 is marked as the day the British fleet the ‘First Fleet’ arrived on Australia’s shores. Australia Day doesn’t have a traditional menu like Burns Night so we’re adding some Australian flavours to our menu, such as Vegemite Pork Loin Steak, Veggie Sausage Rolls and BBQ chicken as well as showcasing sides with Avocado, Beetroot, Sweet Potato and Sweetcorn.

We’re winding down for the Christmas Break!

As the University will be closing and due to events we are operating under reduced serving hours.

There is no set menu for the servery this week however a selection of breakfasts and light lunches will be available until 1pm.
