When I first contemplated higher education, I anticipated challenges, but the reality exceeded my expectations. As a neurodiverse, mature individual, navigating academic demands alongside financial responsibilities proved to be an immense hurdle. However, the scholarship provided the stability and relief I desperately needed.

HOW HAS THE SCHOLARSHIP HELPED YOU GIVE BACK THROUGH YOUR DEGREE?
I am committed to working in mental health as an occupational therapist within the NHS while pursuing a part-time MSc in humanistic counselling. My aim is to integrate my lived experience with academic knowledge to empower others in achieving their life goals. This dual path reflects my deep-rooted passion for aiding others and embodies the values of compassion and empathy nurtured during my time at YSJ. By combining these disciplines, I aspire to provide holistic support and foster meaningful connections with individuals on their journey to mental wellness.
