Do you want to get your voice out into the literary world, but don’t have a creative writing piece on hand?
Where Ideas Grow also accept articles!
Please see the guidelines for article submissions below:
Your article should be no more than 1,000 words.
This piece of writing can explore objectives regarding the publishing and literary industries or could take a more personalised stance.
Please see below for examples of what you could base your article on:
- A selection of personalised writing tips
- An exploration into reader-centric communities e.g Booktok, Bookstagram etc
- A particular writing style/trope/genre you enjoy, and why you believe it contributes to a good story
- An interview with a literary specialist – e.g a writer, an editor, an agent etc
- Your own experiences with creative writing – when did you realise that this was something you wanted to do long-term? What is special about writing to you?
- You do not have to write about one of these things in order to be accepted.
For a further example of how you could format and structure your article, please follow the provided link to ‘Being Specific: Making Characters Real’ by Anna Edwards (1/4 of 2024’s editorial team!): Being Specific: Making Characters Real – Where Ideas Grow (yorksj.ac.uk)

In the subject line of your email, please include:
