It is that time of year again — time for the YSJU Big Summer Read! As last semester drew to a close we canvassed suggestions for this year’s text and then invited everyone to vote over on our Twitter.
The result after the first 100 votes was a dead tie between Burns’ Milkman and Sarah Perry’s The Essex Serpent, but after an extra week of voting Burns’ unnerving tale of a teenager’s ongoing harassment by a creepy older man.
Described by The Guardian as being ‘original, disarmingly oblique and unique: different’, this promises to be an exciting and poignant holiday read!
