Advice to future students studying abroad:

“In order to fully enjoy your study abroad experience, you really have to dive in. Join every cultural based event, make as many friends in your target language/study area but also make friends from all over the world. Any opportunity to do something you’ve never done before, say yes. You’ll regret it otherwise.”

Highs:

“Study Abroad was an amazing experience in a fun, city location. The campus itself featured a very beautiful European style building as its main location. The classes were very fun and engaging and I really enjoyed the experience overall. The multicultural aspect at Rikkyo University was fantastic, with numerous opportunities to meet people from all over the world and engage in fun pass time activities in the Global Lounge.”

Challenges:

“My biggest issue when studying abroad was definitely missing my family. It’s really difficult to spend so much time away from family sometimes, but I definitely felt better once I had made some really good friendships with other students studying abroad.”
