New TEL Assistant

Photograph of Suzy MillsI’d like to introduce myself as the newest member of the TEL team. My role as Technology Enhanced Learning Assistant will be to support staff in using technology to enhance students’ learning. Working to the Academic Development Directorate’s annual objectives and the TEL Quality Framework, I’ll provide TEL support, as well as assisting with the day to day management and administration of the VLE and other learning technologies – Moodle, Mahara, Turnitin, Media Library etc.

I’ve worked at York St John University for over five years as a School Administrator, supporting and advising staff and students in the School of Humanities. I hope to develop my knowledge of how learning technologies can be used in Higher Education. I’m particularly interested in exploring the use of Open Badges.

Her main focus will be the day to day management and administration of the VLE and other learning technologies. Suzy joins the TEL team from the School Administration Unit, where she worked as a School Administrator for five years. Suzy is interested in developing her knowledge of how learning technologies can be used in Higher Education and exploring the use of Open Badges.
