This weekend, Leeds Queer Film Festival will once again celebrate the best in new and alternative LGBTIQ cinema from around the world. A great long list of films will be shown in the four-day festival that starts on Thursday (16 July), including two question and answer sessions, one with Mike Jackson from Lesbians and Gays Support the Miners (following All Out! Dancing in Dulais) and one with our very own Fiona Thompson (following her film Falling in Love with Gay Abandon). There will also be various workshops, a disco and vegan cake!

For more information, see the 2015 programme or speak to Rachel Larman (r.larman@yorksj.ac.uk).

Study on girlhood memories of sexual and/or romantic experiences with girls

The following call for participants is from Anaïs Duong-Pedica (ap827@york.ac.uk), a postgraduate researcher and PhD candidate at the University of York.

I’ve just started a research project – that is not related at all to my PhD – on girlhood memories of sexual and/or romantic experiences with girls. It’s something I’ve wanted to do research on for a while and I’m looking for people who identified as girls in their childhood and who have had sexual and/or romantic experiences with girls prior to being 13 years old. The research requires you to write a narrative of the memory or memories and provide some basic information about your sexual orientation. You can get more information and submit your narrative on here.
