YSJU York Pride Coordinator: Call for expressions of interest

We are delighted to announce that York Pride is coming back on 18 June 2022! York St John is a main sponsor and the YSJ LGBTQ+ community is organising our presence.

This has always been such a fabulous event for the YSJ community to come together and celebrate, and to reach out to the local community. We’d love you to be part of it.

We are looking for an enthusiastic colleague or postgraduate researcher to coordinate our entry in the parade and stall at the festival. You would be working in collaboration with the staff network and the LBGTQ+ students society and would have support from colleagues with a small budget to spend on materials.

Expressions of interest are invited from all staff regardless of sexual orientation and gender identity. You do not need to have had any previous involved with the staff network to apply. If you have any questions about the role before applying, please get in touch.

Important information
  • You need to be available on Saturday 18 June, the day of York Pride.
  • The role requires a commitment of 12 hours (approximately) to be used flexibly in the run-up to York Pride.
  • This is a voluntary role. Dr Amanda Wilcox, Pro-Vice Chancellor Governance and Student Life, would support 1 hour per week (on average) away from normal duties with agreement from your line manager.
  • We also welcome role sharing.
Excited about this opportunity? Please send an email to Emily at lgbtstaff@yorksj.ac.uk outlining in a couple of paragraphs what you can bring to this role.

Deadline: Wednesday 30 March 12 noon.
