In order to gain the information I needed to fulfil my idea, I had to find sources who would give it to me. I focused on trying to gain information from one area that was affected by the flooding and went into stores down Walmgate in York asking managers or staff if they would email me their experience of the floods and what life is like from them now.

A few stores had opened after the floods so could not answer the questions I has asked but that gave me information in itself, showing that some people where not able to keep their business going after the devastation and damage that was created. I did however gain a response from Student Castle, which is a student accommodation which had been open just 3 months before the floods hit. I also received a lot of information from Shhhh Hair & Beauty, a salon that was one of the worst hit buildings from the floods down Walmgate. The salon helped me gain the idea of including images and video as they sent me a mass amount of damage pictures, which i either left as pictures on put together to make a video.
