Sally Hick was my first lecturer when I came back into Education at York St John. A former teacher in a special needs school, Sally was an inspiration to me – she was fierce, curious and kind. Never satisfied, she urged us all to be the best version of ourselves. When she left YSJU we became close friends and I looked forward to many years of her company, warmth and guidance. Sadly, we had but a few months together as Sally died following an aggressive cancer. She always feels with me.
