My story is prompted by Huddersfield Town’s success and record breaking attendances in the beginning of the 2016/2017 Championship campaign. I want to know just exactly how one man seems to have ignited the passion and belief that the club has been lacking since it’s promotion back in may 2012. Since the beginning of the summer chairman Dean Hoyle has backed Wagner 100% by giving him more financial backing than he has ever done with any manager, I want to know why Wagner?

The manager may of inspired success on the pitch but the real success appears to be happening behind the scenes. There is quite a large dispute in football that it is becoming a sport for the wealthy as clubs season ticket prices soar season after season. Huddersfield Town Season ticket prices have been tremendously cut and constant cheap match day deals are been given to fans in an effort to get everybody involved. “The Wagner Revolution” doesn’t just stand for one man and his revolution but he is the face of a whole club revolution which is why I chose this story because it is rare in football to see a “small” club like Huddersfield rise in so many different ways, e.g. making football for the fans again with reasonable ticket prices.

At the start of the 2016/17 campaign it could be argued that the Terriers are playing some of their best football in years with stylish play and clinical finishing.

I will tell this story from an underdog’s point of view as clubs with Huddersfield’s caliber do not have balance and success very often so efforts should be recognised within the footballing world.
