York St John’s, Counselling and Mental Health Centre is teaming up with Treasure Chest to bring new parents in our community a breastfeeding support group that will be based on YSJ’s campus in the chapel.
The group is a part of our parent centre, and it aims to give new families a chance to talk with peer supporters as well as other families who are breastfeeding or combination feeding. Research has shown that parents receiving more postnatal support are more likely to breastfeed, so York St John’s parent centre is working to provide this for the community.
Parents can attend the breastfeeding support group on a Tuesday between 10:30 – 12:00, and not only will you have the chance to talk to peer supporters about your breastfeeding experiences, but you will also be able to opt into some exciting research on how to improve breastfeeding support if you so choose.
