Welcome to the UG Primary Education pages.
The Primary Education programme combines academic study and practical teaching experience at every level. These two sides of the degree constantly feed into each other as you learn. The knowledge and theory you gain on campus informs your teaching practice on school placements.
Within university sessions, you will study a range of modules that build your subject and theoretical knowledge, teaching skills and understanding of educational research. Meanwhile on school placement you will gradually take on more responsibility as you progress through the course.
I am very much looking forward to working with you over the course of your programme. As Programme Lead, I work closely with the Year Leads and programme team. Collectively we ensure that your training prepares you for your teaching career and develops the skills needs to be an excellent teacher.
