#BreakTheBias: join Professor Hannah Bacon and Professor Esther McIntosh to commemorate International Women’s Day 2022, hosted by the Centre for Religion in Society. Hannah’s presentation is entitled ‘Forgive us our Fat: Christianity and the Struggle to Resist Sizeism’ and will be followed by questions from the audience.

About Professor Hannah Bacon

Professor Hannah Bacon holds a BA and a PhD from the University of Liverpool and is currently Professor of Feminist Theology at the University of Chester having previously taught at Liverpool Hope University. She is a Christian theologian with an especial interest in the relationship between gender, theology and the body. Her research explores how Christian theology might inform and transform contemporary social discourses around fat and weight loss. She is author of Feminist Theology and Contemporary Dieting Culture: Sin, Salvation and Women’s Weight Loss Narratives, amongst other works, and she is a member of the National Association to Advance Fat Acceptance (NAAFA).
