All welcome. Book your place here.

Join Jared Stacy and Professor Esther McIntosh for this ‘in conversation’ event, hosted by the Centre for Religion in Society, as they explore QAnon, conspiracy theories and White evangelical nationalism.

Jared Stacy is an American pastor and current PhD student at the University of Aberdeen. His research focuses on the intersection of theology and political conspiracies in American Evangelicalism. From 2016 to 2020, Jared was a youth pastor at a Southern Baptist church in Virginia. During that time, Jared witnessed the spread of conspiracy theories, but found his church leaders reluctant to get involved in challenging the disinformation. In order to gain some critical distance, he left his job in the church, and his home in the US, not long before the insurrection at the Capitol.
