The Bloom Review was published a year ago and focuses on the government’s relationship with faith groups in the UK. Professor Pauline Kollontai, writing for the Methodist Recorder, underscores the need for consistent religious literacy at all levels of government to ensure policymaking is non-discriminatory and maximises the opportunities for joint-working with all faith communities. This article comes at a time when we are witnessing the violent consequences of the prominence of right-wing Islamophobia and the misrepresentation of pro-Palestine voices in the UK. The scrutiny of the government’s relationship to faith communities is needed more than ever.
